10 Things Not To Forget When Going Camping

1. Food - You don't want to be hungry and rely on catching or hunting food. Make sure you bring food, and plenty of it. Also remember to bring storage bags and containers, as you don't want to spoil or ruin any food. Put food up and out of sight when you leave the campsite, even if it's for 5 minutes. Bears and other animals are prone to coming up and eating food, along with trashing your campsite.

2. First Aid Kit - You don't want any cuts you might receive to get infected. Always have a little first aid kit on hand to clean, disinfect, and bandage up cuts and scrapes.

3. Toilet Paper - This is a must for obvious reasons. Running out or not being able to find any is the last thing anybody ever wants to do. You'll never know when some toilet paper might come in handy.

4. Insect Repellent - Bugs, insects, and mosquitoes are a problem outdoors, especially in the South. Bites can swell up and annoy you for days. Bring repellent candles or spray to make sure this isn't a problem.

5. Flashlight / Batteries - If you plan on hiking or leaving the campsite, you should carry a flashlight. You'll never know when something unexpected might come up, such as wanting to check out a trail. This will make finding your way back to camp much easier if the sun were to go down.

6. Tylenol or Aspirin - If you're not worried about hurting yourself, at least be worried about headaches. You'll want something for quick pain relief, whether it's for aches, bruises, or cuts. This is a no-brainer.

7. Charcoal and Firewood - Fires are relaxing, and very useful. You might want to cook your food, roast marshmallows, or just sit around a campfire. Bring plenty of firewood and items needed to light a fire, such as matches, charcoal, lighter fluid, etc.

8. Deodorant - Being outdoors will probably make you sweaty, and after a while you'll probably stink. Showers aren't always available outdoors, so make sure to pack some deodorant. Your friends and family will thank you.

9. Fire Extinguisher - Just in case a fire gets out of control, you'll want to be prepared. I'm sure you wouldn't want to burn down a whole forest.

10. Sunblock - Camping involves being outside, and lots of it. Make sure your skin doesn't get burned by wearing sunblock whenever you're outside.
